About Ghalai
Ghalai is the Qatar National Child Passenger Safety Program, launched in 2019. The word Ghalai means “My Precious” in the Qatari dialect, reflecting the importance of protecting children from harm.
The program is a national collaboration between public and private sector partners, including:
- Ministry of Public Health
- Ministry of Interior
- Ministry of Education and Higher Education
- Hamad Medical Corporation
- Primary Health Care Corporation
- Sidra Medicine
- Qatar University
- ConocoPhillips
Purpose & Description
The Ghalai program provides parents and caregivers with proven child passenger safety measures that significantly reduce the risk of serious injury or death in car accidents.
Ghalai Stations offer hands-on education on:
- Selecting appropriate child car seats
- Correct installation
- Proper use for children of all ages
The program aims to be Qatar’s national reference point for child passenger safety.
